Ten thousand feet above the Pacific, standing on the rim of Haleakala volcano at dawn, the world below disappears into clouds and the sun claims everything. This image began as my own photograph of that extraordinary morning — then I asked a simple question: who belongs in a landscape like this? The armored traveler you see is the answer.  Part photography, part digital art, entirely Maui. A one-of-a-kind piece that exists nowhere else.

Note:  The armored traveler was generated by AI and I combined it with an original landscape to create this image.  All of my landscapes are real photographs taken by me.  If I add an AI element, such as a figure, to one of my images, I will always point that out.
